PJ's Secret Midjourney Prompt
If you want to make your AI films extra cinematic, you've gotta try this prompt format.
Hey everyone! Thanks for helping my Kling 2.0 video hit 750,000 views! I appreciate you taking the time to sign up for this newsletter.
As promised, I’m gonna share my secret Midjourney prompt with you. The essence is this:
An cinematic wide shot at night on a rocky coastal cliff, with pale blue backlighting from the North Sea moonlight, of a Viking family wrapped in cloaks sitting around a roaring fire; a mother shares bread with her children as the father sharpens a blade beside them, the warmth of the flames cutting through the night chill, raw and familial, filmed with wind texture and torch flicker, arri master prime lens, film grain, 70mm IMAX.
With Midjourney V7, you must have created a personalization code by doing their 200-image ranking. Just select all the shots that feel/look cinematic and skip the others.
Here are some examples:

An cinematic close-up of an ancient Chinese hunter drawing back his crossbow in the bamboo undergrowth, his eyes narrowed and fixed beyond the frame; a drop of sweat rolls down his cheek as the light catches the polished wood of his weapon and the silk embroidery on his collar; behind him, bamboo stalks blur into green abstraction, composed and tense, filmed with shallow depth and stylized natural light, film grain, 70mm IMAX.

A cinematic medium shot of two historical tribal Pacific Islanders seated beside a fire pit under palm trees on the edge of the beach at night, the fire glows warmly against their tattooed skin and the ocean breeze carries embers toward the waves, gentle and celebratory, filmed with practical firelight and soft ambiance, film grain, 70mm IMAX.

A cinematic medium shot of two Maasai warriors sitting cross-legged by a glowing fire under a starlit savanna sky, their red shukas illuminated by the flame’s flicker; they laugh with ease, gesturing with carved wooden staffs as embers rise into the dark, earthy and human, filmed with warm firelight contrast and natural stillness, film grain, 70mm IMAX.
The secret to doing this quickly in a nutshell:
Write script
Write shot list
Tell ChatGPT to use this prompt structure for all the prompts in your shot list
Have chatgpt give you new prompts in batches of 5 to 10 shots at a time
Adjust as needed based on what you see in Midjourney.
Animate with Kling/Luma/Runway, etc.
If you want to see me do this from start to finish—every prompt, every detail of the process—in video format, then I’m going to launch a condensed AI filmmaking course in about a month.
Don’t worry, it’ll be cheap (the price covers the cost of my course editor) and will be very streamlined, so you can watch it and master the tools quickly. I’m not doing this to become some big AI guru marketer—I don’t have the time for that 🤣
I’m doing this because I want to give back to the community and because I need talent for my AI film studio. We have a lot of demand, but finding talent is tough right now.
This is my way of sowing some seeds to help kickstart the crazy season that's about to arrive. We’re already talking with some studios about a slate of upcoming AI TV shows (in addition to the ones we’re working on), and I think I’m going to need to hire 50-75 full-time AI filmmakers by the year’s end.
So learn the skills! There will be a ton of opportunities over the next year for those who apply themselves.
I might send one more email or post in preparation, but in the next 30-45 days, I’m going to create another mega viral video + launch the course in tandem, teaching you how I made the video and how you can make similar ones. Feel free to reach out with questions you’d want me to include in the course. I’ll be explaining my end-to-end process, but it’s helpful to understand what parts people want me to focus on the most.
As always, my content will be all killer, no filler. Enjoy!
